US Initiates Expansive Military Maneuvers in Middle East
According to US Air Forces Central (AFCENT), officials announced on Tuesday that the so-called “readiness exercise” is intended to showcase the swift mobilization and long-term support of combat aircraft. The mission reportedly seeks to test protocols for spreading troops and aircraft across multiple “contingency locations,” while also coordinating command structures with unspecified “partner nations.”
“This is about upholding our commitment to maintaining combat-ready Airmen and the disciplined execution required to keep airpower available when and where it’s needed,” said AFCENT commander Lieutenant General Derek France.
These air operations are being carried out alongside a substantial naval reinforcement. US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, along with guided-missile destroyers, arrived in the region earlier this week.
In addition, Washington has transferred more F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets, Patriot missile defense units, and THAAD air defense systems to the Middle East, further strengthening its military footprint.
“There’s another beautiful armada floating beautifully towards Iran right now,” Trump remarked during a speech on Tuesday, expressing hope that Tehran would “make a deal.” He has also claimed that the naval presence positioned near Iran surpasses the force previously deployed during operations involving Venezuela.
